There was a discussion on this subject. This part of the report became also a report for the UNESCO World<br /> Heritage committee and become so in the UNESCO's material. In that way it<br /> become more difficult for countries to state that there is no international<br /> accepted definition.<br /> <br /> Except from those two definitions the most other definitions you found<br /> reference to consequences of light pollution. I believe it is not a good<br /> case to define your problem by defining the consequences and not the problem<br /> self. The research on consequences of light pollution is still ongoing and<br /> every year new things are discovered. That make this definitions also not<br /> very sustainable. This definitions do well.<br /> Several people not like the definition because it seems that no light at all<br /> can be used. For that reason it is important that some remarks are mentioned<br /> in combination with the definition.<br /> You can compare it with the definition of other types of pollution like air<br /> pollution.
